EU should approve airline mergers quickly, Ryanair CEO says

BRUSSELS, March 20 (Reuters) - The European Commission

should "get on with it" and approve pending mergers between

European airlines, Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary said on

Wednesday.

"Get on with it and approve these mergers because,

ultimately, it is the way forward in Europe," O'Leary told an

industry conference in Brussels.

He said increased consolidation was needed to ensure

Europe's aviation industry remains competitive globally.
