12:10 PM EST, 03/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Evogene's ( EVGN ) AgPlenus unit said Wednesday that it achieved a milestone in its herbicide development collaboration with Corteva (CTVA) Agriscience after it identified a new family of molecules that exhibit herbicidal effect through APCO-12, a novel mode of action or MoA.

The collaboration started in 2020, under which the companies target to develop a new MoA herbicide to address the issue of weed's resistance to existing herbicides, said AgPlenus.

The Evogene ( EVGN ) unit said the next phase of the collaboration will focus on advancing the identified class of molecules to a commercial product.
