10:08 AM EDT, 06/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Moody's on Thursday assigned a Baa2 rating to $600 million of senior unsecured notes to be issued by Fairfax Financial Holdings ( FRFHF ) . It said the rating outlook for Fairfax remains unchanged at stable.
Meanwhile, Fitch on Thursday assigned a "BBB" rating to the $600 million 6.1% senior notes due 2055 issued by Fairfax. Also, Fitch rated the reopening of Fairfax's senior notes due 2033 of $150 million 6.00%, which is currently rated at "BBB."
The new issuances rank equally with Fairfax's currently outstanding senior notes and are thus rated equivalently, Fitch noted.
FFH stock had edged up 0.6% at last look on Friday in Canada.
