FCC to Drop Probe Into EchoStar's 5G Service Obligations in US

08:28 AM EDT, 09/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- EchoStar ( SATS ) received a letter on Monday from Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr notifying the company that he had instructed his staff to terminate their investigation into the company' compliance with some of its federal obligations to provide 5G services in the US, the company said in a Tuesday regulatory filing.

The probe was also looking into EchoStar's ( SATS ) September 2024 buildout extension and mobile satellite services utilization in the 2GHz band, the company said.

EchoStar ( SATS ) said its previously announced deals with AT&T ( T ) and SpaceX remain subject to FCC approval.

Shares of EchoStar ( SATS ) were nearly 3% higher in recent premarket activity.
