05:16 PM EDT, 03/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Fireweed Metals ( FWEDF ) after trade Wednesday said it identified three new exploration targets at the Boundary Zone deposit in Macpass, Yukon, using a muon tomography survey in collaboration with Ideon Technologies.
The targets are Boundary East, Boundary South, and Boundary North. They show anomalous density and are being further studied, the company added.
Muon tomography works by detecting sub-atomic particles called muons, which are generated by cosmic rays, the company said, adding that the survey detected anomalous modeled density at Boundary Zone, supported by co-incident gravity anomalies, which will be drill-tested in 2025.
The survey is part of the Subsurface Intelligence to Unlock Critical Minerals Supply project, funded by DIGITAL, Canada's Global Innovation Cluster. Fireweed is eligible to get up to $1.5 million in cash funding from DIGITAL to support the project, the company said.
