Former Goldman Banker Leissner Reportedly Gets 2 Year Sentence in 1MDB Fraud Case

01:16 PM EDT, 05/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Former Goldman Sachs ( GS ) banker Tim Leissner was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to his role in looting the Malaysian sovereign investment fund 1MDB, multiple news outlets reported Thursday.

US District Judge Margo Brodie in Brooklyn, New York, imposed the sentence on

Leissner after pleas for leniency, the reports said.

Goldman Sachs ( GS ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
