06:33 AM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Fortuna Mining ( FSM ) Tuesday said it has filed an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the Diamba Sud gold project in Senegal.
The company filed the ESIA with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development's Direction de la Reglementation Environnementale et du Controle. The ESIA covers the project description and benefits, institutional and regulatory framework, environmental and social baseline studies, public consultation, impact assessment and proposed mitigation and monitoring plans.
Fortuna aims to complete a preliminary economic assessment in the fourth quarter of 2025 and conduct a definitive feasibility study and make a construction decision in the first half of 2026.
The company has drilled 52,110 meters year to date in 2025, leading to a mineral resource expansion of 53% in the measured and indicated category and 93% in the inferred category.
Drilling is expected to restart in October after the end of the rainy season and will continue until the end of the year.
Fortuna's share price at last look lost 2.6% to $8.74 in U.S. pre-market trading Tuesday.
