05:44 PM EDT, 04/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Frontier Communications Parent ( FYBR ) recently detected an unauthorized access by what was likely a cyber crime group to portions of its information technology environment, but it believes it has contained the incident.

The third party had gained access to "personally identifiable information" and other information, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The company said it is now in the process of restoring normal business operations, after shutting some systems as part of the containment process.

Frontier has notified the law enforcers and engaged cybersecurity experts to help in the ongoing investigation, it said. The incident is not likely to have a material impact on the company's financial condition or results of operations.

Company shares fell nearly 4% in after-hours activity.
