Dec 20, 2024 6:38 AM

09:25 AM EST, 12/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Gatos Silver ( GATO ) said late Thursday it has signed amended agreements with Dowa Metals & Mining related to the Los Gatos joint venture.

The amended agreements, which will be effective on Jan. 1, will expand Gatos Silver's ( GATO ) management rights in the JV, the company said.

The move will lead to Gatos Silver ( GATO ) being able to fully consolidate the financial statements of the JV instead of accounting for its investment in the JV under the equity method of accounting as is does now, it said.

The ownership stakes of Gatos Silver ( GATO ) and Dowa in the JV will remain the same at 70% and 30%, respectively, the company said.
