Oct 28, 2025 5:55 AM

08:35 AM EDT, 10/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- GE Vernova ( GEV ) is among the companies interested in launching projects aimed at contributing to the Japanese government's commitment to invest $550 billion in the US as part of a trade agreement, a factsheet by the two countries showed on Tuesday.

The company plans to construct small modular reactors with the potential participation of Japan's Hitachi GE Vernova in a project valued at up to $100 billion, according to the factsheet.

GE is also targeting a project worth up to $25 billion to supply large-scale power equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators to grid electrification and stabilization systems. The project would consider the involvement of Japanese firms, the factsheet said.
