01:55 PM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors ( GM ) reported Tuesday its US electric vehicle sales in August reached a monthly record high of 21,000 units across its automobile brands.
The carmaker attributed the sales to a surge in customer demand before the Federal EV tax credits expire on Sept. 30.
The company said it expects "strong" demand for its EVs in September, but lower sales after the federal tax credits expire, and that the market could take various months to normalize.
General Motors ( GM ) also said expects its public fast-charging bays in the US to reach 65,000 by year-end and grow to over 80,000 by the end of 2026 and 100,000 by the end of 2027.
