Getchell Gold Shares Up 4.7% as It Extends Metallurgical Studies at its Fondaway Canyon Project
Oct 6, 2025 9:36 AM

12:25 PM EDT, 10/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Getchell Gold ( GGLDF ) was up 4.7% at last look after the company on Monday said it is extending the metallurgical testing program at the Fondaway Canyon gold project in Nevada to optimize processing, improve concentrate quality, and validate the final concentrate chemistry for market sale.

The initiative follows last year's scoping-level metallurgical program, which formed the basis of the company's preliminary economic assessment released in February 2025.

The 2024 work covered both oxide and sulfide zones and confirmed that the mineralized material responds well to conventional flotation, achieving gold recoveries of about 84% while producing a low-mass, high-grade concentrate. The 2025 metallurgical study is designed to expand on those findings by testing additional process modifications aimed at enhancing recoveries, maximizing gold grades, and reducing mass pull, the proportion of non-valuable material in the concentrate. The company also intends to validate the multi-element composition of the concentrate under more rigorous conditions to ensure it meets market standards.

Getchell said the extended program could have direct economic implications for the project. Improved recoveries and higher concentrate grades would increase gold yield and strengthen project economics, while lower mass pull would reduce downstream processing and shipping costs.

The new phase of testing is expected to continue through the end of the year, with results feeding into the next update of the preliminary economic assessment.

Shares of Getchell Gold ( GGLDF ) were last seen up by $0.02 to $0.445 on the Canadian Securities Exchange.
