11:12 AM EDT, 04/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Glaukos ( GKOS ) said Wednesday its iDose TR has received a permanent Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System J-code from the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, starting July 1.

The company's iDose travoprost intracameral implant 75 mcg is a prostaglandin analog indicated to lower intraocular pressure in patients suffering from ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma, Glaukos ( GKOS ) added.

The new J-code for iDose TR is J7355, the ophthalmic pharmaceutical company said.

US government and commercial payers use J-codes to streamline the billing and reimbursement requirements for procedural pharmaceuticals.

Glaukos' ( GKOS ) stock was up 6% in recent Wednesday trading.
