GlobalFoundries, BAE Systems Partner to Boost Supply of Essential Chips for National Security Programs

09:37 AM EDT, 06/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- GlobalFoundries ( GFS ) and BAE Systems said Thursday that they have entered into a partnership to focus on US chip manufacturing and joint research and development for advanced chip technologies for national security programs.

The companies said the partnership would include aligning technology roadmaps, conducting joint research and development in advanced semiconductor technologies, and focusing on securing manufacturing for aerospace and defense applications.

Both GlobalFoundries ( GFS ) and BAE Systems were recently awarded funding under the CHIPS and Science Act, the companies said.
