06:26 AM EDT, 06/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) has been cleared of possible antitrust violations in the sale of digital advertising by Mexico's competition regulator, the agency said Friday.
Mexico's Federal Commission of Economic Competition said it was investigating whether Google ( GOOG ) required advertisers seeking placement on its main search engine were forced to place ads on other websites as a condition.
"After a comprehensive analysis of the evidence based on technical, economic and legal criteria, the plenary concluded that there is no real obligation or imposition on the part of Google ( GOOG ) on users to contract both services," the commission said in a statement, according to a translation.
