06:22 AM EST, 11/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) is being sued by Canada's Competition Bureau over anti-competitive practices in online advertising.
In a statement released Thursday, the antitrust watchdog said it found that the technology company "unlawfully" bundled its various advertisement tools to keep its market dominance, and that it used its position to "distort auction dynamics."
The regulator said it has filed an application with the Competition Tribunal that seeks, among others, a penalty and for Google ( GOOG ) to sell two of its ad technology tools.
Google ( GOOG ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
