10:04 AM EDT, 06/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) previewed Wednesday an open-source AI agent called Gemini CLI to aid developers in various tasks, including coding, content generation, problem solving, and deep research.

Gemini CLI upgrades the command line interface, allowing users to write code, fix issues and streamline workflow using natural language, according to Google ( GOOG ).

The company said it has integrated Gemini CLI with its AI coding assistant Gemini Code Assist, enabling prompt-driven, AI-first coding in both VS Code and Gemini CLI.

Google ( GOOG ) users can get a free Gemini Code Assist license, which provides access to Gemini 2.5 Pro and its 1 million token context window, the company said.
