12:25 PM EDT, 08/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) on Tuesday announced the launch of a new streaming device that would replace its Chromecast.

Called the Google TV Streamer, the device is designed to be faster and "more premium" than its predecessor, the company announced in a blog post.

Google ( GOOG ) said the new device will be powered by artificial intelligence to curate and suggest content to users and come with better hardware for "faster app load times and smoother navigation than previous generation Chromecast."

Google ( GOOG ) priced the device at $99.99 and said it will be available on Sept. 24.
