Google Unveils New OS, Headset With Samsung

11:24 AM EST, 12/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) on Thursday introduced Android XR, a new operating system for the "next generation" of computing, and a headset, both of which it developed with Samsung, according to a company blogpost.

For Qualcomm ( QCOM ) partners, Google ( GOOG ) said it is creating a path to develop an array of Android XR devices to meet a multitude of needs.

The headset, code named Project Moohan, will be available for purchase next year, Google ( GOOG ) said.
