05:04 PM EDT, 05/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Hecla Mining ( HL ) said late Thursday it has appointed Board Chair Catherine J. Boggs to the additional roles of interim president and chief executive, starting immediately.

The company said CEO and President Phillips Baker Jr. is retiring and stepping down from the board.

Boggs said Hecla's board will immediately start looking for a new CEO.
