03:31 PM EST, 11/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Hilton Worldwide Holdings ( HLT ) has reached a tentative contract agreement with nearly 2,000 unionized workers at the company's Hawaiian Village resort in Honolulu, who were slated to vote later Monday on the potential deal, according to the Unite Here union representing the striking employees.

Details of the contract proposal announced late Saturday between Hilton and housekeepers, front desk personnel, cooks, servers, maintenance workers and other members of Unite Here's Local 5 in Honolulu were not immediately disclosed. In a statement, the union said the deal includes "significant" wage increases along with improved health care, staffing and workload protections.

The Hilton workers in Hawaii began their walkout Sept. 24. Marriott International ( MAR ) employees in Boston are slated to vote Wednesday on a tentative contract while union members in several other cities, including San Diego and Sacramento, California as well as Connecticut, Rhode Island and Toronto in Canada, have ratified new contracts in recent weeks.

More than 1,900 Unite Here members at five Hilton, Marriott ( MAR ) and Hyatt Hotels ( H ) remain on strike, the union said.

Spokespeople for the hotel companies did not immediately return messages from MT Newswires on Monday seeking comment.
