05:51 PM EDT, 07/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Hudbay Minerals ( HBM ) suspended mining operations temporarily in Snow Lake, Manitoba, following a mandatory evacuation order issued by provincial authorities due to an active wildfire.

A limited workforce remains on site to support emergency response efforts and conduct monitoring programs, the company said Thursday in a statement.

Operations will resume "once the wildfire situation improves," Hudbay said. Despite the disruption, Hudbay said it continues to expect to meet its 2025 annual guidance metrics for Manitoba.

The company produces gold, copper, zinc and silver at Snow Lake.

Hudbay shares fell 2.2% in after-hours trading.
