Huntington Ingalls Secures $9.6 Billion in Navy Contracts to Build Amphibious Ships

03:40 AM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Huntington Ingalls Industries ( HII ) said late Tuesday that its Ingalls Shipbuilding division has been awarded $9.6 billion in contracts for the construction of three San Antonio-class amphibious ships and the next America-class large-deck amphibious ship for the US Navy.

The contracts include a $5.80 billion for building the three ships and up to $3.89 billion for the design and construction for the America-class amphibious assault ship, the Pentagon said.

Huntington Ingalls has already produced and delivered 13 San Antonio-class ships and 15 large-deck amphibious ships for the navy.
