Illinois Tool Works' Q2 Adjusted Earnings Rise, Revenue Falls; 2024 Outlook Updated

08:43 AM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Illinois Tool Works ( ITW ) reported Q2 earnings Tuesday of $2.54 per diluted share, up from $2.48 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $2.47.

Operating revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $4.03 billion, down from $4.07 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $4.08 billion.

For 2024, the company said it now expects EPS of $10.30 to $10.40, from its prior outlook of $10.30 to $10.70. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $10.33.

Revenue for the year is now expected to be flat, compared with the company's earlier expectation of a 2% to 4% growth.

Shares of the company were up 3.6% in recent premarket activity.
