Inszone Insurance Services Acquires Charles James Cayias Insurance Inc. of Salt Lake City, Utah
Mar 12, 2026 11:21 AM

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Inszone Insurance Services, a rapidly growing national provider of commercial, personal, and benefits insurance, is pleased to announce its merger with Charles James Cayias Insurance Inc., located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This merger further solidifies Inszone’s footprint in Utah, bringing a historic, third-generation agency into the fold.

Founded on June 13, 1997, by Charles "Charley" James Cayias and his wife, Cyndia Cayias, the agency represents decades of dedication to the Salt Lake City community. Charley, a licensed agent since 1977, is a third-generation insurance professional. He built the business on a foundation of deep personal relationships and specialized expertise. Joined later by their son, Dimitri Cayias, the agency has remained a true family operation, known for its client-first approach and high retention rates.

Charles James Cayias Insurance, Inc. has carved out a unique reputation in the region, particularly within niche commercial lines. The agency is the number one writer of Pilot Cars in the area and holds a strong presence in the hospitality sector, insuring numerous bars, restaurants, and taverns. Charley Cayias will continue with Inszone Insurance Services following the acquisition, transitioning away from the administrative side of the agency to focus on what he loves most: serving his clients and building relationships.

For Charley Cayias, the decision to partner with Inszone came down to shared values and the preservation of the agency’s culture. After being courted by various potential buyers, Cayias chose Inszone because of the company’s commitment to keeping the agency’s identity intact.

“I’ve run this agency for decades, and while I wanted to scale back on the administrative side, I wasn’t ready to stop working with my clients,” said Charley Cayias. “I was amazed by how fast, smooth, and professional the process has been. Inszone was the only partner that shared our beliefs and offered a way for us to focus on our relationships while they handle the back-office operations.”

“The Cayias family has built an incredible legacy in Salt Lake City, and their expertise in niche markets like Pilot Cars and hospitality is a fantastic addition to our company,” said Chris Walters, CEO of Inszone Insurance Services. “We are honored that Charley, Cyndia, and Dimitri have chosen Inszone to carry their name forward. Our goal is to provide them with the resources they need to continue providing the exceptional service their clients have known for nearly 50 years.”

This acquisition reflects Inszone’s continued focus on partnering with quality independent agencies while preserving local leadership and client relationships.
