10:00 AM EDT, 03/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- International Paper ( IP ) said Tuesday it has named Andrew Silvernail its new chief executive officer, effective May 1.

Silvernail will succeed Mark Sutton, who will continue in his role as chairman to help with the transition.

Silvernail joins International Paper ( IP ) from investment firm KKR (KKR), where he was an executive advisor. He was also chairman and CEO of privately held business management consultant Madison Industries. Before that, he was chairman and CEO of IDEX Corporation from 2011 to 2020.
