09:42 AM EDT, 08/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- International Paper ( IP ) said Thursday it plans to convert the No. 16 paper machine at its Riverdale mill in Selma, Alabama, to produce containerboard by Q3 of 2026.

The mill currently supplies Sylvamo ( SLVM ) with roughly 260,000 short tons of cut-size uncoated freesheet annually from the machine under an existing supply agreement, International Paper ( IP ) said.

Sylvamo ( SLVM ) said it has been planning for this conversion and making strategic investments to enable it to meet customer demand.
