JERUSALEM, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Israel's offshore Tamar
natural gas field closed on Wednesday for scheduled maintenance
that is expected to last about 12 days, the site's operator
Chevron ( CVX ) said.
Tamar is Israel's main domestic gas supplier. The larger
Leviathan field off Israel's Mediterranean coast, a key supplier
to Egypt and Jordan, remains operational.
"We will continue to produce natural gas and supply
customers in Israel and in the region from the Leviathan
reservoir," Chevron ( CVX ) said in a statement.
Six production wells at Tamar produce volumes of natural gas
ranging from 7.1 million cubic meters to 8.5 million cubic
meters per day, according to Chevron ( CVX ).
