Jindal Steel and Power is expected to deliver one lakh tonne of long rails in the next 12 months, said Naushad Akhter Ansari, CEO.
The company bagged an order in the first-ever global tender for rails floated by the Indian railways. The railways has awarded around one lakh tonne order for supply of long rails to the company.
The order value from the railways is approximately Rs 500 crore and the margins from this order will be on par or better than what company normally does, Ansari said.
"Around 90 percent of the payment would come in two-three weeks after we start delivery and the 10 percent subsequently," he said.
The entire payment is likely to come through in FY19, said Ansari.
On the capacity front, he said JSPL’s Raigarh plant is functioning at 95 percent.
"Angul plant which is relatively new is operating at 50-60 percent capacity and will be around 80 percent by year-end," added Ansari
