05:37 AM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Jumia Technologies ( JMIA ) said Wednesday it plans to close its operations in South Africa and Tunisia by year-end 2024 to focus its resources on its "most promising markets."

The move is anticipated to improve the company's overall operational efficiency.

South Africa and Tunisia accounted for only 3.5% and 2.7%, respectively, of total orders for 2023, the company said.
