K92 Reports Suspension Of Underground Operations At Papua New Guinea Gold Mine

09:02 AM EDT, 03/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- K92 Mining Inc. ( KNTNF ) said Tuesday that undeground operations at the Kainantu gold mine in Papua New Guinea were suspended after an employee died due to a "non-industrial incident."

The company said it has filed an appeal against the suspension order of the underground operations. It added that the processing of stockpiles has resumed following a three-day halt.

According to K92, preliminary findings from the company and the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary have concluded that the death is a "non-industrial suspicious incident."

The company said it is working with the relevant government authorities to support their investigations.

K92 lost 1.4% yesterday.
