ASTANA, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan plans to hold
preliminary consultations with the country's biggest oil
producer, Chevron ( CVX )-led Tengizchevroil, on revising
production sharing agreements (PSAs), Energy Minister Almasadam
Satkaliyev said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a briefing a day earlier, Satkaliyev had said
that the state might raise its share in oil projects developed
by international energy firms, change operators or renegotiate
contracts.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Tuesday ordered the
government to step up talks with international oil companies
about an extension of existing PSAs on "better terms".
