04:18 PM EDT, 05/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Kits Eyecare ( KTYCF ) Tuesday after-trade reported higher net income and revenue for the first quarter.
Net income rose to $1.6 million or $0.05 per share, from $0.06 million ,or $nil per share, the year before. The improvement was due to higher revenue, order fulfillment and marketing efficiency.
Revenue rose 34% to $46.6 million, and glasses revenue jumped over 46% to a record $6.7 million. The company delivered 104,000 pairs of glasses in the quarter, up from the 75,000 in the prior year period.
"We are pleased to deliver another quarter of record results, with revenue up 34% year-over-year and gross profit increasing by over 50%. These results reflect the strength of our vertically integrated model and our team's continued focus on operational efficiency," chief executive Roger Hardy said.
For the second quarter, Kits is expecting revenue to be between $48 million to $50 million.
The company's shares closed down $0.36 to $11.33 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
