06:21 AM EDT, 08/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Kodiak AI (KDK) has received a drivered testing permit from the California Department of Motor Vehicles' Autonomous Vehicle Tester program, the company said Friday.

The permit, which the company obtained Thursday, allows heavy autonomous vehicle developers to test and deploy their technology on California roads so long as a driver is behind the steering wheel, the company said.

Shares of the company were up over 2% in recent premarket activity Friday.
