08:07 AM EDT, 07/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Kosmos Energy ( KOS ) said Wednesday that it has begun oil production at its Winterfell development in the Green Canyon area of the US Gulf of Mexico.

Kosmos said it holds a 25% stake in Winterfell, a phased project with two production wells now online and a third currently being drilled and expected to be online by Q3. The three initial wells are expected to produce about 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, according to Kosmos.

The other partners in Winterfell unit are operator Beacon Offshore Energy, Westlawn Americas Offshore, Red Willow, Alta Mar Energy, and CSL Exploration, Kosmos said.
