10:31 AM EST, 12/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS) said Tuesday it was awarded a $6.5 million contract by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to provide flight testing for hypersonic research to support future weapon systems.

The two-year contract, which started in August 2023, focuses on developing, characterizing, and validating critical hypersonic components for technology maturation and to reduce risk, Kratos said.

Shares of Kratos were down more than 3% in recent trading.
