12:33 PM EDT, 05/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Linde ( LIN ) said Wednesday it will invest about $150 million to build and operate an on-site air separation unit in Boden, Sweden, as it struck a deal with H2 Green Steel for supplying industrial gases to the large-scale green steel plant.

Linde ( LIN ) said it will supply oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to H2 Green Steel's integrated plant, which will use advanced technology to cut carbon emissions by up to 95% compared to traditional steelmaking.

The new air separation unit, which is expected to start by 2026, will also supply atmospheric gases to its customers in the local merchant market, Linde ( LIN ) said.
