11:55 AM EDT, 03/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Luminar Technologies ( LAZR ) said Thursday it's launching a collaboration with Caterpillar ( CAT ) to integrate light detection and ranging, or LiDAR, technology into Caterpillar's ( CAT ) autonomous machines.

The LiDAR technology will be launched with Cat Command for hauling, Luminar ( LAZR ) said, adding the Cat off-highway truck will have two Iris LiDAR with an integration system designed only for Caterpillar ( CAT ).

Financial details weren't provided.

Luminar ( LAZR ) shares jumped nearly 19% in recent trading, and Caterpillar ( CAT ) was down 0.7%.
