07:13 AM EDT, 10/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Lundin Gold ( LUGDF ) overnight Tuesday said third-quarter gold production at its Fruta del Norte mine in Ecuador rose to 122,154 ounces, up from 112,212 ounces in the same quarter last year.
Of the total quarterly gold production, 73,532 ounces were produced as concentrate, up from 71,902 ounces; and 48,622 ounces were produced as dore, up from 40,310 ounces.
Third-quarter gold sales totaled 125,887 ounces, rising from 112,711 ounces. The mill processed 425,340 tonnes of ore, an increase from 416,072 tonnes.
"During the third quarter we achieved the milestone of 2.0 million ounces of production from Fruta del Norte in just under five years of operation," said Lundin Gold President and CEO Ron Hochstein. "Having produced 366,788 oz year to date, we are confident in achieving our 2024 production target of 450,000 to 500,000 ounces."
The company also said it appointed Brendan Creaney as vice president of corporate development and investor relations. Creaney most recently served as chief financial officer of Trevali Mining.
