09:56 AM EDT, 06/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- MAIA Biotechnology ( MAIA ) has activated the second US clinical site for the phase 2 expansion trial of ateganosine as a third-line treatment for non-small cell lung cancer, the company said Wednesday.

The new site, in Homewood, Alabama, expands the trial's active sites to 44 across six countries, the company said. Data from the trial's expansion could further support an accelerated approval filing with the US Food and Drug Administration, MAIA said.

Patient enrollment is also ongoing for a phase 3 trial evaluating overall survival for ateganosine sequenced with a checkpoint inhibitor compared to investigator's choice of chemotherapy, according to the statement.

MAIA Biotechnology ( MAIA ) shares were 4.6% higher in Wednesday trading.
