08:51 AM EDT, 10/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Markel Group ( MKL ) said Monday that Tom Hillier has been named chief underwriting officer for its Markel Insurance unit, subject to regulatory approval.

The company said it also plans a new international structure, with Markel International shifting from two divisions to five businesses, including Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, London Market, and UK.

The London Market unit will encompass Marine & Energy, PFR & Cyber, and Specialty, Markel ( MKL ) said.

All five businesses and the new CUO will report to Andrew McMellin, president of Markel International, the company said.

Shares of the company were 0.1% higher in premarket trading.
