01:04 PM EST, 01/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) has reassigned longtime executive Kim Vorrath, known for managing complex products, to its artificial intelligence and machine learning division, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing sources with knowledge of the matter.
Vorrath, an Apple ( AAPL ) veteran of 36 years, will serve under AI chief John Giannandrea, the sources said.
She previously worked in hardware engineering and was involved in launching the company's Vision Pro headset, according to Bloomberg. Haley Allen will succeed Vorrath in overseeing program management for the headset's operating system visionOS, the media outlet reported.
The reshuffle indicates AI's rising importance at Apple ( AAPL ), overshadowing even the Vision Pro, Bloomberg News reported, citing a senior Apple ( AAPL ) official, who added that Vorrath's expertise in organizing engineering groups and improving workflows will help tackle the growing demands on the AI team.
Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
