Market Chatter: Apple Probed by Poland Antitrust Authority Over Ad-Tracking Policy
Nov 25, 2025 4:09 AM

06:49 AM EST, 11/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) faces an investigation by Poland's antitrust authority UOKiK into whether the US tech giant's privacy rules limit competition in mobile advertising, Reuters reported Tuesday.

The review centers on Apple's ( AAPL ) App Tracking Transparency in iOS 14.5 and later versions, which limits third-party data collecting while benefiting Apple's ( AAPL ) own ads business, the report said, citing the regulator.

App Tracking Transparency framework may mislead users about privacy protections and unfairly tilt the market against independent publishers, the report quoted UOKiK president Tomasz Chrostny as saying in a statement.

The authority believes the conduct could amount to an abuse of a dominant position, the report said. If violations are confirmed, Apple ( AAPL ) could face a fine of up to 10% of its Polish turnover, the report added.

Apple ( AAPL ) may have to withdraw the ATT framework in Europe, and would like to work with the Polish authority to retain its function, the report quoted Apple ( AAPL ) as saying.

Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
