06:44 AM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) smartphone shipments in China rose 0.6% year over year to 10.8 million units in Q3, even as the overall market declined, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing data published by research firm IDC.
The report said Apple ( AAPL ) held a 15.8% market share, ranking second in shipments during the period and becoming the only one among the top three brands to post growth.
"Apple's ( AAPL ) value-for-money base model iPhone 17 successfully captured (value-seeking customers), helping it to achieve slight growth and a higher ranking than the previous quarter," said Will Wong, a senior smartphone analyst at IDC, according to Reuters.
IDC expects a rebound in China's smartphone market in early Q4 due to new flagship models, Reuters said.
