07:49 AM EDT, 10/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BHP Group ( BHP ) 's iron ore cargoes were put up for sale in China and one shipment has been sold to a local trader, easing concerns of a potential Chinese ban on BHP's exports, Reuters reported Friday, citing an offer sheet.
The offer sheet was issued Thursday by the Shanghai branch of China Mineral Resources Group for 1.14 million tons of BHP's iron ore shipments, the report said. The Australian miner also sold a 170,000-metric-ton cargo to a Chinese trader on the same day, Reuters said, citing two traders with direct knowledge of the matter.
Bloomberg reported last month that CMRG told major steelmakers and traders to temporarily stop buying all new BHP cargoes, following a pause on purchases of BHP's Jimblebar fines, according to the report. The sources said none of the cargoes sold or offered on Thursday were Jimblebar fines, Reuters said.
BHP and CMRG did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
