05:04 PM EDT, 09/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) could secure orders from Turkey for up to 250 commercial aircraft and more F-16 fighter jets, with a potential resolution of a F-35 dispute, as US President Donald Trump is set to host President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sept. 25, Bloomberg reported Friday.
Turkey was a partner in the program to build Lockheed's F-35 stealth fighter, but was barred from participating after it purchased Russia's S-400 missile defense system, which led to congressional sanctions, according to the report.
Boeing ( BA ) has drafted the framework for a deal with Turkish Airlines, which is likely to be showcased next week, people familiar with the matter told the media outlet.
"We are working on many trade and military deals with the President, including the large-scale purchase of Boeing ( BA ) aircraft, a major F-16 deal, and a continuation of the F-35 talks, which we expect to conclude positively. President Erdogan and I have always had a very good relationship," Trump said in a Friday social media post.
Boeing ( BA ) and Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) did not immediately respond to requests for comments from MT Newswires.
