09:14 AM EDT, 10/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Chinese state-owned company COFCO has bought three US soybean cargoes, Reuters reported Wednesday, quoting two unnamed trade sources.
The purchases, which were the first from this year's US harvest, come ahead of the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the report said.
COFCO's deal was for a December-January shipment of around 180,000 metric tons of soybeans, the report said, adding traders are not expecting a significant pickup in demand for US cargoes after recent large purchases of South American soybeans.
COFCO didn't immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
