12:49 PM EDT, 08/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Comcast ( CMCSA ) -owned NBCUniversal has signed a distribution agreement to bring the ad-free version of Peacock to Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Prime Video Channels, Reuters said Thursday.
The agreement is part of a wider partnership that will also ensure the Peacock app remains on Amazon's ( AMZN ) Fire TV streaming platform and renews the ability for consumers to buy or rent Universal Pictures movies through Prime Video. In return, Prime Video content will be viewable on Comcast's ( CMCSA ) Xfinity X1 devices, Reuters said.
If successful, the agreement could serve as a template for NBCUniversal to strike similar deals with other third-party distributors, a person familiar with NBCUniversal's strategy told Reuters.
Both Comcast ( CMCSA ) and NBCUniversal didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
