10:18 AM EST, 01/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- D.E. Shaw has bought a stake in Riot Platforms ( RIOT ) and may push the bitcoin miner to implement changes, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.

Reuters said it couldn't determine the size of the stake.

Riot Platforms ( RIOT ) and D.E. Shaw didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares of Riot were up 2.4% in recent Wednesday trading.
