02:02 PM EST, 11/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) , Chevron ( CVX ) , private equity firm Carlyle Group ( CG ) , as well as Abu Dhabi National Oil Company are among companies interested in acquiring Russian energy giant Lukoil PJSC's international assets, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the situation.
While Lukoil prefers to sell its non-Russian assets in a single-package ahead of Dec. 13 sanctions, potentials buyers have shown interest in certain parts of the company's business, raising the possibility for a single buyer like a financial firm to acquire all the assets and resell them piecemeal over time, Bloomberg said.
Trump Administration would prefer that Lukoil's global assets are taken over by a US entity, which further limits the pool of potential buyers, people with knowledge of the matter said, according to the report.
Chevron ( CVX ), Exxon, and Carlyle did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
